mike’s Story

Hi, my name is Mike and I am free! On Fathers day 2013, I lost my son to a long battle with cancer. The pain and long suffering ended at 10.30 Sunday morning ay Bethel Chapel in Elgin, ontario when I walked into the service and on the projector was the image of “The Father’s Love Letter” As I began to read a new foundation was formed in my life and I wanted to celebrate Father’s day every day of my life!

My pain and sorrows were all tossed overboard by Jesus, into the sea of forgetfulness just as a mother forgets her pain when she sees her baby. I asked and thanked Jesus for being my life preserver, I’ll never let go, no matter how rough the seas of my life get,I will stay focused on you Jesus.

Today my neighbor asked '“How are you doing?” I told him of the tiring tribulations in my life, and family, and that the the crushing effects on me are forcing me to explore my strengths and weakness.

He stopped me and said: I may have given up by now.” Yes,but no! My strength is in my love for Jesus and that He loves me and lives in me

For many years my life has been filled with success and the stuff that it brings. True thankfulness and FREEDOM and happiness, I could not buy or find for many years.

Today I am in the fight of my life: my fauth muscle is growing day by day. It is pulling my relationship with Jesus to where this crushing sensation is turning the grapes into a good wine. I have been happier and freer with Jesus living in every corner of my heart.

There can be a big change living on this ship, it will be exciting challenging and fulfilling’ Climb aboard and live the life you were born to live. Let Jesus be the Captain of your ship!

JOE’S STORY

Hi my name is Joe and I am free today because of the love and redemption of Jesus Christ in my life.

For many years near the end of my addiction the colour had drained from my world. My world had become gray, without light, without joy, without hope and I lived in the shadow of fear, guilt and shame.

You see, I had turned to a broken world for the solutions to the emptiness I had in my life and took my comfort in addiction to alcohol. At first it served me and eventually, as is the case with all sin and dysfunction, I began to serve it, until my life was a ruin. I did not know I was sick, I did not know I was lost, I did not know I was a slave. I was deceived.

I was willing to sacrifice my wife and children, everything I had held dear, to alcoholism. I had turned my back on God and had become captive to a life that took me into situations and places where I would not have previously gone. Into a life that was outside the purposes I had been designed for. God’s purpose in my life! At the moment of my deepest despair, overwhelmed by grief and failure, with nowhere left to turn, I turned back to Jesus.

Three simple words, ‘help me Jesus’, restored to me a world of colour and hope. Today I can walk with Him. Today I can speak with Him and for Him and my strength is in Him.
